The Ombudsman for Children is responsible for making sure that children’s rights and status are taken into consideration in legislation and decision-making. Every four years, the Ombudsman for Children presents the Finnish Parliament with a report concerning matters related to the Ombudsman’s area of responsibility

Report to Parliament by the Ombudsman for Children 2022

The purpose of the Report to Parliament is to provide the Parliament with an overview on
the position of children and realisation of their rights in Finland in 2018 – 2021. The aim of the Report is to support the Parliament in taking the rights of the child into consideration in  decisionmaking to promote good child, youth and family policy based on the rights of the child.
