The Convention on the Rights of the Child is an international human rights convention. It obliges the signatory states to respect and ensure the rights of the child guaranteed by the Convention. In addition, it obliges them to ensure that the national legislation corresponds to the rights confirmed by the Convention. Everyone below the age of 18 years is a child.
The UN Committee on the Rights of the Child monitors the implementation of the Convention on the Rights of the Child by the signatory states. The Committee issues general comments to support the implementation. In them, the Committee interprets the rights guaranteed by the Convention.

Three Optional Protocols strengthen the Convention on the Rights of the Child:
A child or a group of children has the right to file a complaint to the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child, if a signatory state has violated the rights of children. The Committee states its opinions on the complaints it investigates and issues recommendations based on them, if necessary.
The Ombudsman for Children does not have the authority to resolve issues related to individual children or families, and the Ombudsman for Children cannot comment on such issues. Here you can find the contact information of parties that offer support, as well as instructions related to services for families and children as well as their legal protection.
